We strive to offer a thorough service to our
clients and an important part of this is openness and a user-friendly interface.
Our process generally works as follows: We would
attend an initial meeting with the client to discuss his needs in general terms,
with a view to narrowing down potential activities and deliverables that can
meet his objectives. This is often in collaboration with his team. The
collaboration can be at the detailed engineering level or at the project
management level.
We would then prepare a preliminary proposal, in
which we would capture the essential requirements of the project, breaking the
key activities down into tasks and allocating them to resources as required. The
preliminary proposal would also offer estimates of timescales to completion and
to internal milestones within the project. A budgetary cost estimate would also
be prepared.
Usually there are details to be modified, such as
milestone requirements, third part inputs, external deadlines, and so on. After
discussion with the client we would normally update the preliminary proposal to
capture these and offer revised timescales and cost estimates.
We would hope that the detailed proposal forms
the basis of a contract for services with the client, but up to this point there
is no obligation on, or cost to, the client. On receipt of authorisation to
proceed and the corresponding purchase order, work can often start on the
project within days.
